Back on track in April

April 12th, 2010

And in a major way. It seemed like we hit a standstill with donations for a little while, but we’re rolling again with two very generous contributions from Mark Ozga and Kelly Hajduk this month. Thank you both very much! Now April isn’t over so if anyone would still like to donate to this batch, please do. I will update you all with results of where these donations went after the end of the month. As always, your support is much appreciated!

True Blue!

February 24th, 2010

Something wonderful happened today. We had a company meeting at work for Excellence in Achievement Awards across various categories. One of these awards was the True Blue Award for people who contribute to the community, environment, society, etc, and I had the immense honor of receiving it as a result of this project and all of the volunteer work that has stemmed from it. I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has supported these efforts and the shelters, namely Tree House, that have brought numerous new opportunities to help animals in need. I can’t say how much I appreciate this recognition, and I owe it to everyone who has taken part.

I’d also like to let you all know that I’ve started the year off already with some more volunteer projects for Tree House.  Just recently, I worked on a small project to promote spaying/neutering, a letter with some stories and a donation form that you can see below. Feel free to print one off and send it to Tree House!

Latest news

December 20th, 2009

I wanted to share some more details about the work I’ve been doing for Tree House Humane Society. I’m happy that not only has this project been an avenue for donating to animals in need and the shelters that care for them, but that it also lead me to contributing with volunteer work. As I mentioned before, I have been doing some projects for this shelter, and there are a few more I’d like to talk about.

Lights of Love

I’ve recently done some graphic work for a wonderful event that Tree House holds annually to honor pets both past and present, Lights of Love.

Tree House will also be hosting a benefit concert, Kittypalooza,at the Empty Bottle on January 14th, 2010. I was able to create the poster for this event using their staple rock cat icon. Doors open at 8:00 pm and cover is only $10 – totally worth it to help out some kitties!

An update on the past few months

September 23rd, 2009

It’s about time I let you know what’s going on. Unfortunately, donations have been at a standstill.

That being said, I’m very happy to tell you all that I’ve been keeping busy in other ways to help the homeless animal community here in Chicago. I’ve worked on a couple of brochures for Tree House Humane Society, which was the first shelter to benefit from this project. Since then, I’ve been able to maintain contact with the great people there, and it’s opened up a lot more doors in terms of contributing more to this important cause. I will also be working on a new brochure for a very special event they are hosting, and I’ll give you all the details as soon as I have them.

Additionally, I’ve also volunteered some time to designing graphics for the Adopt Hop, a fun bar crawl starting at Trader Todd’s to benefit 7 local animal shelters. Below is the invite for the event. Hope you can make it!

As for animpact, I am not giving up! Now that all of this work is settling down, I plan to get back to being proactive about getting donations and keeping you all updated. Please help by spreading the word!

I dropped the donation off at Harmony House, one of the oldest no-kill, cageless animal shelters for cats here in Chicago. They are located at 3809 N. Kedzie. Please check out their website, www.hhforcats.org, for more information.

Falling Behind

July 25th, 2009

Hello everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to apologize for taking so long to update. I didn’t realize howdifficult it is to maintain this by myself with a busy schedule. I will try my best to stay on top of things in the future. Thank you for understanding!

I just want to take a moment to send a great big thank you to Bob Gernhofer for donating this month. He has been kind enough to make multiple donations since this project has been started, and it is greatly appreciated! Also, another thank you to Andrew Goldberg for his donation and effort in spreading the word about animpact. I’m so happy that, thanks to people like you, this project can keep going!

A great big thank you!

May 7th, 2009

Fantastic news! Thanks to Andrew Goldberg and Black Forest Hobby Supply Company, the Animpact project will be getting more exposure. They’ve been kind enough to place a link to this site on their site. You can find the link to their homepage off to the right under “Links.” They have a great offering of model aircraft, model train, and other hobby-related products from top manufacturers. Please take some time to visit and check out all the cool items they have to offer!

And once again, thank you! Your support is so greatly appreciated!

April Donations

May 6th, 2009

Hi everyone, unfortunately our April results are no results. The project did not receive any donations for the entire month.

However! There is some good news. We’re back on track with a generous donation from Andrew Goldberg. A nice start to May’s contributions.

This is definitely a time of budget consciousness, but I cannot stress that, in this case, the smallest donations add up. Some cans of pet food are as little as 20-30 cents a piece. I will work to be even more proactive about spreading the word. Please do pass this website along to friends and family!

Thank you all so much!
